Our team was proud to attend VERTICON 2026 in Atlanta this year, connecting with partners and peers from across the industry.
The conference also highlighted leadership within our own organization. Rick Kenin, our COO of Transport, who stepped into the role of Chair of the Vertical Aviation International Board last summer, led the annual membership meeting—an honor that reflects both his expertise and Boston MedFlight’s continued leadership in the industry.
One of the biggest highlights for our day-to-day operations came when Kenin and Mark Onorato, BMF’s Director of Aviation Operations, met with Fabrice Weber, CEO of LD Switzerland, to initiate the purchase of 39 new helmets and accessories thanks to a recent $100,000 gift from the MA Humane Society.
This investment will represents meaningful upgrade for both our pilots and clinical staff, with a stronger helmet design, more reliable audio, and lighter materials that help reduce muscle fatigue. Paired with our new lightweight night vision goggle system, crew members will experience a reduction of over one pound of weight on their necks—an important improvement for comfort and long-term health during demanding missions. The three are pictured here celebrating the purchase.

VERTICON 2026 was not only an opportunity to strengthen partnerships, but also to reaffirm our commitment to safety, innovation, and excellence in aviation!
