Boston MedFlight Named One of the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts for 2022

BEDFORD, MA- October 28, 2022 - Boston MedFlight, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that for 37 years has provided critical care medical transport      to patients in need by air and ground, has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts.  The award was presented by The Women’s Edge and Boston Globe Magazine.  2022 marks the 22nd year of recognizing the women power players driving the Massachusetts economy.

Boston MedFlight is the region’s primary provider of critical care transport to the most critically ill and injured infants, children and adults.  It has provided critical care transport to more than 93,000 patients since its inception in 1985.  And in line with its nonprofit mission, they have cared for those patients without regard for their insurance status or ability to pay.  The nonprofit provides approximately $7 million annually in free and unreimbursed care to patients in need with little or no insurance. 

Since 2000, The Women’s Edge (formerly The Commonwealth Institute) has supported systemic, sustained progress for women in leadership roles throughout the business community.

Boston MedFlight provides critical care medical transport with its fleet of air and ground vehicles, all of which are outfitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment and serve as mobile intensive care units, staffed by highly trained critical care nurses and critical care paramedics.
