MANCHESTER, NH // April 23, 2026 — Boston MedFlight welcomed regional partners for an Open House at its new base at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) today, celebrating its continued commitment to communities and patients across the region.
Since establishing the base in early March, Boston MedFlight’s crews have been busy actively supporting patients and delivering critical care throughout southern New Hampshire—strengthening response times and expanding access to care for the nearly 1,000 patients it transports across the Merrimack Valley each year.
“Everything we do is for the patients we serve, and this base has been about thoughtfully repositioning our resources to help strengthen and better connect the system of care supporting patients across southern New Hampshire,” said Boston MedFlight CEO Maura Hughes. “We’re grateful for the partners who make this work possible every day and proud to continue building those relationships in service of our patients.”

The Open House provided an opportunity for EMS, hospital, and aviation partners to connect with Boston MedFlight crews, tour the aircraft, and get a closer look at the clinical capabilities that support lifesaving care across New England.
“This open house was our way of opening the doors—literally and figuratively—to the folks we work with every day,” said Mike Steckevicz, Clinical Operations Manager and Manchester Base Manager. “We wanted them to know us, understand the dedication and care we put into every mission, and recognize that every transport could involve someone they know or care about—a family member, a friend, or someone from their community. We wanted them to know that we are here, we are ready, and we are committed to providing the highest level of care every single day.”

The Manchester base now serves as Boston MedFlight’s primary hub for southern New Hampshire, further strengthening coordination with regional partners and enhancing access to critical care when and where it is needed most.
“Manchester is proud to welcome Boston MedFlight to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, which continues to serve as an important asset for our city and region,” said Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais. “The airport’s location and capabilities make it a strong fit for Boston MedFlight’s primary southern New Hampshire base, helping to improve coordination with regional partners and expand access to critical care when and where it is needed most. We look forward to supporting their mission and this growing partnership.”
“We are pleased to officially welcome Boston MedFlight to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport,” added Tom Malafronte, A.A.E. “Manchester is an ideal location for Boston MedFlight to facilitate patient transport and expand access to critical care throughout southern New Hampshire. We look forward to the partnership and supporting the essential role that Boston MedFlight plays in the Merrimack Valley region.”
