A COVID-19 Update from Ann Prestipino, Chair of Boston MedFlight's Board of Trustees

June 30, 2020 Friends of Boston MedFlight,

I have been fortunate to have been connected with this wonderful organization for over 35 years, having served on the Boston MedFlight Board of Trustees since the time of its founding in 1985. It has been impressive to witness firsthand the growth of the organization, and gratifying to play a role in that evolution by working with my fellow Trustees and the incredible staff and leadership of Boston MedFlight to build the finest Critical Care Transport organization in the country.

Speaking on behalf of my own organization (Massachusetts General Hospital), and on behalf of my fellow Trustees and their organizations (representing the Boston MedFlight Consortium of the Boston area’s leading medical centers), I can say emphatically that Boston MedFlight has been and remains an essential resource in the region’s medical response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our hospitals, and community hospitals and first responders throughout the region, have relied on Boston MedFlight to provide ICU-level care to the sickest COVID-19 patients, most of whom have been intubated and requiring mechanical ventilation and other specialized treatment. Boston MedFlight is uniquely qualified to care for these patients, while also providing Critical Care Transport to the infants, children and adults suffering from other illnesses and injuries they have cared for for over 35 years.

As a nonprofit organization, Boston MedFlight cares for patients in need regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. Providing the highest quality Critical Care Transport is demanding and it is expensive. I urge you to join me and others in supporting Boston MedFlight’s nonprofit, lifesaving mission today. Donate Today

Thank you so much for your interest and consideration.
